The Eastern Mediterranean region is in the spotlight, as geopolitical tensions and disputes regarding hydrocarbons and establishment of maritime zones in the region escalate. Nevertheless, economic cooperation maintains momentum and new alliances are being formed.
Within this context, The Economist’s upcoming NEW YORK-EASTMED SUMMIT entitled “A sea of conflict or a sea of opportunities?", will explore the prospects of the relations between Cyprus, Greece and Israel, but also the role of the United States in the region, especially in view of the crucial November US presidential elections.
The event is being organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and Investments of Greece and the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry of Cyprus and it is scheduled to be broadcast on September 29th 2020 (3 pm EEST-8 am EDT) through the website www.hazliseconomist.com.
