Unveiled at BOOT Düsseldorf, the new 11 kW BlueSpin Outboard marks a major milestone for French company BlueNav, as it becomes the brand’s first motor to feature a turbine fully designed and engineered in-house. This step reinforces BlueNav’s technological independence and commitment to innovation, performance and sustainability.

Previously based on Rim Drive Technology (RDT) turbines, the new 11 kW model introduces a proprietary turbine with patented Dynamic Anti-Cavitation Thrust Control, continuously optimizing thrust to reduce cavitation, improve energy efficiency and ensure smoother, quieter and more controlled navigation.

Positioned as a true mid-range solution between BlueNav’s 8 kW and 15 kW models, the 11 kW Outboard retains the ultra-compact footprint of the 8 kW, allowing easy integration on a wider range of vessels without compromising space or weight. Designed primarily for twin installation, it is suitable for boats between 6 and 12 tons, while a single-motor version will also be available for boats from 3 to 6 tons.

Mounted discreetly on the transom, the motor remains almost invisible when retracted. In electric mode, the turbine deploys to deliver silent and precise propulsion, ideal for harbor maneuvers, docking, low-speed cruising and virtual anchoring. Under combustion power, it retracts completely to preserve hydrodynamics, aesthetics and performance.

Fully integrated with BlueNav’s Smart Navigation ecosystem, the 11 kW Outboard offers advanced assistance including Dynamic Positioning, Virtual Anchor, Drift Lock, 360° and lateral docking, autopilot functions, waypoint tracking and speed control. Controlled via a 3D joystick, Precision+ GPS and mobile app, the system ensures intuitive and stress-free operation.

Designed, engineered and largely manufactured in France, the 11 kW Outboard reflects BlueNav’s commitment to responsible production, with 79% of component value sourced in France and 89% in Europe.
