Palma International Boat Show 2025
Palma International Boat Show 2025

The Palma International Boat Show (PIBS) is set to kick off for its 2025 edition taking place between 30 April and 3 May.

Organisers have announced the addition of a new 5,000-square-metre area at the Club de Mar, creating two distinct exhibition zones connected by sea.

This long-awaited expansion aims to accommodate more exhibitors and vessels that have been eager to participate in the event. Palma International Boat Show is organised by the Regional Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, through the Regional Development Agency of the Balearic Islands (ADR Balears), in collaboration with the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA). As space limitations at Moll Vell prevented further growth, an agreement with Club de Mar has allowed for this significant expansion.

The new exhibition area will cater primarily to large yachts ranging from 35 to 80 metres (115 to 262 feet) in length, with a focus on high-end sailing vessels from exclusive shipyards. In addition to showcasing luxury yachts, the Club de Mar site will feature an on-land exhibition space dedicated to service providers and suppliers in the industry. These will include companies specialising in yacht maintenance, naval engineering, shipbuilding, and interior design.

Speaking at the FITUR tourism fair, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, councillor for Enterprise, Employment and Energy, said, “We are pleased to meet the long-standing demand of the nautical sector for more space at the show. The new Club de Mar location is perfectly suited for these large yachts, offering state-of-the-art facilities and a deep-rooted history in the world of superyachts.”.

Sáenz de San Pedro highlighted that the expansion represents not just a quantitative increase in size but a qualitative enhancement of the boat show’s prestige. He anticipates that within three years, the new site will host more than 20 mega yachts at sea and around 40 exhibitors on land. The goal is to establish Palma as the leading global event for superyachts.

To ensure a seamless visitor experience, the two exhibition zones—Moll Vell and Club de Mar—will be linked by a five-minute shuttle boat service. A single-entry ticket will grant access to both areas, making the event more convenient and appealing for attendees.

With a history spanning over 40 years, Palma International Boat Show marks the start of the Mediterranean yachting season. The next edition will take place from 30th April to 3rd May, welcoming approximately 30,000 visitors and more than 280 exhibitors. The event plays a crucial role in the region’s economy, with the Balearic marine industry comprising over 850 companies and employing more than 5,150 people.

According to the Balearic Marine Cluster, the sector generates around €1.1 billion (c. $1.14 billion) annually, contributing more than 3% to the region’s GDP. With this latest expansion, Palma International Boat Show is poised to strengthen its position as a key driver of economic growth and innovation in the global yachting industry.
