At the beginning of 2019, the boot Düsseldorf is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an impressive star parade from the 19th till the 27th of January.
Sarah-Quita Offringa and Robby Naish will open the world’s largest water sports fair on the evening of 18th January during a gala event in Düsseldorf’s city centre.
Aruba’s 15-time windsurfing world champion Sarah Quita-Offringa will be on stage in Hall 8a on January 19 and 20, 2019, and will also honour the pool during the tow-in show.
The surfing legends Robby Naish (23 world championship titles) and Björn Dunkerbeck (42 world championship titles) will meet her at the boot in Düsseldorf. Including the collections of Vincent Langer (3 world championship titles) and Gunnar Asmussen (1 world championship title) there will at least be 84 world championship titles be represented at the boat show on the first weekend.
Foiling, Fitness and Tow-In are going to be the leading topics at the 50th boot!
Major brands and some of the finest newcomers will present their new products and innovations on 13,000 square meters. From new sails, race, wave and freestyle boards to the latest foiling equipment: Here you’ll find everything accelerating surfer heartbeats.Between THE WAVE made by citywave® and the 1.400 square meters shallow basin, Duotone, Fanatic, Gaastra, Gun Sails, Ion, Novenove, Quatro, S2 Maui, Starboard, Severne and many more manufacturers will show how windsurfing will develop in the coming years. Of course, we will also inspire you with a lot of action. You can watch the cool moves of the freestylers during their Tow-in Windsurf Show in the 65 meters long pool. Right on the first weekend, the international Tow-in elite will meet for a competition among friends.

Know-how and fitness are the nuts and bolts of windsurfing. That’s why you’ll get first-hand information and tips from professionals. You will also be able to get going with our new fitness program for the upcoming season.
And just so that your inner balance does not come too short, you can then directly move on with some SUP yoga on our basin. All you need are a towel and your swim gear. We’ll happily provide you with a wet suit. Of course, you can also try THE WAVE again. Please register in advance so that we can get as many surfers a chance as possible. „Talk shop“ with the Pros!
Once the fitness is taken care of, the more relaxed part is waiting for you. A brief talk to Björn Dunkerbeck or Robby Naish and the other stars might seem just right to enrich an interesting fair visit. All of them are not only approachable on stage but happy to continue the conversations before or after at the exhibition stands of their sponsors.
Thrilling Action on January 26 and 29 in early 2019!
On the second boot weekend, Stand-up paddlers and Watermen will move into the spotlight. On that occasion, you can meet Airton Cozzolino, Zane Schweitzer, Paulina Herpel and many more SUP stars. They will prove their skills in competitions like the 3rd SUP Wave Masters, the 7th Short Track Masters or the Foiling Show Contest. In total, there is a prize money of 7000 Euro up for grabs.
Shopping and Relaxing
Anything else missing? Sure, the right equipment for the new season! In Hall 8 you will find many shops where you can make real bargains. A shopping spree is worthwhile here as well as in Hall 12. There you will find the right outfits for the upcoming season in the „Beach Life Zone“. From 17 o’clock we will turn the music a little louder, so you can end the day with a delicious cocktail in a relaxed atmosphere and great company.

Last but not least a helpful hint for all of you who come with their own bus: The P1 Car Park at the Caravan Centre is the right address. Electricity, water and waste disposal are not a problem there. Even better: The way from the bed to the board is unbeatably short!
