Oceanco's 90 metre superyacht DreAMboat has departed her home yard to begin sea trials.
It comes after the never-before-seen interior of the yacht was revealed by Boat International for the first time last month. The yacht's golden dining room, which offers a 12-seater table, was unveiled by Terence Disdale Design.
DreAMboat, which features an exterior designed by Espen Øino International, remains on track for delivery in time for the summer season.
Built from a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, DreAMboat'sexterior profile features overhangs from the superstructure and cut outs from the bulwarks which create a "classic and strong appearance."
It also features a number of large windows that flood the interior with natural light and offer unbroken views. “The overall effect is a yacht with clean uncluttered lines and a coherent design,” Øino said.
Other key features include a swimming pool on the main aft deck, partially closed sundeck with a Jacuzzi and plentiful seating and entertainment areas. A Jacuzzi also sits on the owner’s private deck. A full carbon canopy mast house and mast are also key parts of the design.
Accommodation is for a total of 23 guests and 33 crew in a massive 2,950GT interior. Aside from the golden dining room, the interior incorporates bespoke surfaces, natural wood, limestone floors and a number of other materials, including semi-precious stone, leather and mother-of-pearl.
The propulsion package consists of a pair of MTU 4828 engines while the yacht’s beam measures 14.2 metres.
The owner’s representative Dan Jackson previously described the project as “intense” but “with some clear direction from the owner.” “We have achieved a great deal and are poised to deliver a stunning yacht,” he said.
Oceanco project manager Roderick Gort added: “Launching DreAMBoatis an important milestone in the construction process of delivering ‘the Owners Perfect Yacht’."
The project marks Oceanco’s 33rd yacht in its 33 year history and follows fellow 90 metre DAR, which made her debut at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show.
The boat is one of several enormous superyacht projects in the works at Oceanco, including 109 metre Y720 and 125 metre Y721, both due in 2021. The 117 metre Y719, also known as Project Acquaintance, is due next year. The average length of all 34 yachts the yard has delivered since 1993 is a massive 73.1 metres. Øino is no stranger to super-sized projects either, with more boats than any other designer among the Top 101 yachts in the world.
