Preparations are well underway for the third Oyster World Rally, which is set to take place in 2022-2023.
A fleet of up to 30 selected Oyster yachts will depart Antigua in January 2022 for “the adventure of a lifetime”, according to Oyster chief commercial officer Paul Adamson.
After departing from the Caribbean, the fleet will head through the Panama Canal to the Galapagos Islands, through French Polynesia, around Australia via the Whitsundays and into Indonesia.
The Oyster fleet will then cross the Indian Ocean via Reunion Island and Mauritius and spend Christmas in Cape Town. From here the fleet will journey up the Brazilian coast via St Helena and Ascension Island, stopping off in Grenada and finally arriving back in Antigua.
“It’s the kind of circumnavigation many Oyster owners and sailors dream about, it’s about global roaming, it’s all part of owning an Oyster,” Adamson said.
As the yachts journey around the world, they will be constantly supported by Oyster’s technical support team and an events team, which will organise parties and help owners with customs and other logistics.
“There are so many amazing moments and places. It’s an adventure of a lifetime but it’s also a group of likeminded people and their Oysters doing what Oysters do,” Adamson said.
