Palm Beach International Boat Show to go Ahead Despite Coronavirus Concerns

The 35th Palm Beach International Boat Show and accompanying Superyacht Show are set to go ahead despite global coronavirus concerns, organisers have said.

In a statement released by Informa, organisers said there are “no plans to cancel, postpone or move the show.”

The show is currently scheduled to take place from March 26 – 29, with attending yachts including the likes of the 72 metre Tankoa Solo and 49 metre Trinity superyacht La Dea II.

The statement added: “The safety and wellbeing of our staff, exhibitors, partners, attendees and members is paramount and we are continuing to monitor the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to understand any and all potential risks."

Organisers added that they are monitoring the situation and are “in close contact with local and state health departments.”

Extra measures will be taken to prevent the spread of the virus, including the provision of “extra hand-sanitising stations” and “additional cleaning crews to keep all areas of the event clean and sanitary.”

“We will continually promote positive health tips to our entire community and should there be new developments, we will share this communication with our exhibitors, attendees and members immediately.”

It is not yet clear if the LYBRA-organised Palm Beach Superyacht Experience, which is scheduled to take place over the same dates, is also confirmed to go ahead.
