World Champions Panagopoulos-Bouzana in France, 6 Distinctions for Kalamaki Nautical Club, 30 Medals for Greece

The podium of the 420 World Championship in the U17 category, which concluded on Saturday afternoon at Lake Biscarrosse in Southern France, was filled with Greek flags. The crews of the Kalamaki Nautical Club (NOK) made history and went above and beyond, securing 6 distinctions in the competition.

Iasonas Panagopoulos and Fevronia Bouzana celebrated 1st place in both the MIXED and the Men's General categories. The final day of racing proved decisive, as they finished 5th and 1st, performances that ultimately earned them the top spot on the podium.
The string of distinctions for NOK continued with Filippos Portosalte and Andreas Psomiadis (3rd place U17 general, 2nd in boys), Marianna Makri and Veselina Troskou (7th place U17 general, 2nd in girls), Alexandros Pallis and Minoas Angelidakis (8th U17 general, 4th in boys), and Odysseas Detsis and Nikolas Dravilas with second place in the U15 category. Adding to these successes the consistent performance in yet another event by Zoumpourli-Howell and Podiadi-Melaniti, you likely have the puzzle of NOK's most successful overall presence at a World Championship.

Furthermore, the distinctions of the Kalamaki Nautical Club sailors are combined with their high academic achievements, proving that dedication, discipline, and proper time management are valuable assets in both sports and education.
The architects of this success at Lake Biscarrosse were NOK coaches Dimitris Lekakis and Dimitris Psomiadis. The World Championship in France has already been written in Greek letters into the golden book of Greek sailing successes. The commanding presence of all clubs at Lake Biscarrosse, the 30 medals, and the finishes in the top ten prove the stability and upward trend of Greek crews, especially in the development categories where our country ranks at the top level globally.
The next goal for the NOK 420 team is the European Championship, which will be hosted from July 20-26 in the city of Nida, Lithuania.
